EvaLyn does a fantastic job at this blog, and I'm going to try to add a bit from my end. Below is a picture of our team, 15 people organic to our unit in SLC and 5 providers, including 3 general surgeons, 1 orthopedic surgeon, and 1 nurse anesthetist. All five are deployed with us for 90 days. This is that first group that was with us, and they turned out to be great friends and teammates. We first met them at the Army Trauma Training Center in Miami, and had a baptism by fire, so to speak. It was sad to see them go, as we considered each one of them a very special and important part of our team.
MAJ Corcoran was one of our general surgeons, though a vascular surgeon by trade. We had a small girl, probably about five years old, that came in and required surgery, and stayed two days. Boy did she cry. But she was a cutie.
Considering it's taken me over 24 hours to get this blog up, it looks like I'm going to have to try harder to keep this updated. Even now, I just got back from getting a man in the ICU who was shot. I'll get more pictures up soon.
Everyone, thanks for taking care of my beautiful wife while I'm gone, and thank you for your prayers and concern!
