Go and Do Thou Likewise

Last year, after returning from his LPN school in DC, Kyle joined a forward surgical team. It operates kinda like the old show MASH, but with 20 people. In three tents, they operate an ER, an OR, and an ICU. The team is preparing to go to Afghanistan, and will depart the end of February.
Kyle is in the ICU, and will be able to do a lot of good for our soldiers that are serving, as well as the people of Afghanistan. His battalion motto is "Go and Do Thou Likewise," a quote from the parable of the good Samaritan. He will be serving for about a year. We are very proud of him and how hard he has worked, and how hard he will work to do good. Kyle will be in a very secure compound where they fly patients to the team, and then fly them out to a bigger hospital. Here are two pictures that Kyle says may be similar to what it might be like.

Can't believe that it is already here. I remember when it was all talk and now it is fast approaching. We are still waiting to see if Shane will be going. I know that they are short handed with some of those who were going, but can't now because of medical issues. If Shane does go, I hope that he is with Kyle so that they can help each other out and be each others strengths to make it through. I hope that you are doing okay with all of this. I know that it will be hard not to have Kyle there, but if you ever need anything or want to hang out, please know that I am there for you. It has been nice to get to know you and Kyle. You are great people!!!!
